Croatian-Federation-National-soccer-Team

Croatia has appeared in the FIFA World Cup on five occasions (1998, 2002, 2006, 2014 and 2018) since gaining independence in 1991. Before that, from 1930 to 1990 Croatia was part of Yugoslavia. Their best result was reaching the 2018 final.

The 2018 World Cup second place has lost just once in its qualifying games to the tournament and will make its sixth appearance in just seven editions (since its debut in 1998). Many people would say “The Vatreni” benefited from a relatively kind draw in qualifying, but the runner-up from four years ago remains a dangerous opponent.

Despite his advancing years, Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric remains a superb player and the talisman. The 35-year-old will be determined to impress at what is likely to be his final World Cup. Nevertheless, it is difficult to envisage Zlatko Dalic’s squad having another lengthy run in the competition.

Croatia is seeded in Group F with Belgium, Canada and Morocco.
