The Australia men’s national soccer team, commonly known as the Socceroos, has become one of the most consistent teams from Asia in recent decades. Although their first World Cup appearance was way back in 1974, they didn’t return to the finals again until 2006. Since then, Australia has qualified for every World Cup from 2006 through 2026, making seven total appearances at football’s biggest tournament — including the 2026 World Cup.

Australia’s group matches are scheduled throughout June 2026, with their opening game against Turkey, followed by matches against the United States and Paraguay later in the group stage.
